At approximately 6:17 p.m. Delta Police responded to a 911 call of a small plane that had landed on Highway 91 in the southbound lanes, just south of 64th Avenue.
The 49-year-old pilot was the lone occupant of the Amphibian Ultralight aircraft and was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The pilot was flying from the King George Airpark and was flying over the Delta area when it is believed that the plane lost power causing a forced landing on the highway.
No one else on the ground was injured as a result of the accident.
Delta Police are working with the National Transportation and Safety Board to complete the investigation.
The highway has now been reopened in both directions.
