Robber Attempts Bicycle Getaway in North Vancouver

North Vancouver RCMP have arrested a robber after he attempted to get away on his new ride.

RCMP arrested a man on a stolen bicycle in connection to three home robberies in the McKay Creek area. On May 14th there were reports of a man throwing rocks through windows to gain access to three homes.

The man tried to get away on his bike, carrying two backpacks. Once the robber spotted RCMP, he reportedly braked, crashed, and broke his collar bone.

Robert Plant, a 55-year-old from Surrey, has been charged with three counts of Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property.

RCMP promptly returned the stolen items.

“The three break and enter victims were all very relieved to have over $15,000.00 worth of stolen property so quickly returned to them,” said Cpl. Richard De Jong.

Plant is well known to police.

His next court appearance has been set for June 10th.
