As the annual Hometown Heroes Lottery officially launched ticket sales this weekend, a new home in West Kelowna or Lake Country could be yours.

“The funds provided through the Hometown Heroes Lottery actively support our medical teams at VGH (Vancouver General Hospital) and UBC Hospital and help drive vital medical research forward,” said President and CEO of VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, Angela Chapman.

“Your support allows opportunities for new equipment, treatments, research and clinical trials that will benefit patients throughout BC.”

Ticket sales will be available until midnight on July 11, and the funds raised will also go toward the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund and other organizations.

"The Hometown Heroes Lottery plays a crucial role in supporting survivor services and essential programs for burn survivors of all ages," said Jeff Sauvé, executive director of the BC Burn Fund.

"With your participation in the lottery, you are directly contributing to the enhancement of care and support for burn survivors and their families across the province and addressing their diverse needs. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in their lives."

Other prize home options are in South Surrey, Vancouver, Courtenay, Sooke, Chilliwack, Langley and Burnaby.

In total, there are 2,700 prizes to be won including daily cash prizes and a 50/50 jackpot.
