UPDATE: The severe thunderstorm watch has ended for the Okanagan

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued by Environment Canada for the Okanagan Valley as persistent storms continue to roll through the area.
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing heavy rain. Thunderstorms are expected to develop over the afternoon on Monday in parts of the southwest interior including the Boundary and Nicola regions. Some of these thunderstorms could produce heavy downpours of 15 to 20 mm per hour and localized flooding is possible in the vicinity of these thunderstorms.
Environment Canada is also warning about hail and strong wind gusts and reminding residents to be prepared for severe weather. For the latest, most up-to-date information visit the Environment Canada website.
