The best 3 golf courses in Kelowna as voted by you

The Okanagan has no shortage of incredible golf courses and facilities.

You could play a different golf course every day for two weeks and still have some amazing tracks to get to.

For that reason, voting on golf courses for Best of Kelowna is never easy, but it’s hard to argue against any of the three winners from this year’s competition.

Gold: Two Eagles Golf Course & Academy

Two Eagles Golf Course may not be the longest or most difficult golf course in the Okanagan, but it’s certainly one of the favourites. The par 65 course runs between 3,785 and 5,014 yards, depending on tees, and featuring two par fives, seven par fours and nine par threes. The shorter length makes it a great choice for any level of golfer.

Two Eagles also features some great views of Okanagan Lake and its surrounding hills, which you get to enjoy for much of the 18-hole journey. Along with a great course, you’re also treated to world class facilities that include a beautiful clubhouse and proshop, a great driving range and a learning centre to hone your skills.

Silver: The Harvest Golf Club

Located in East Kelowna, the Harvest Golf Club is a beautiful, open layout that’s also a stiff test for golfers. For the most part, the course plays in between 6,000 and 7,000 yards, but golfers can take it easy with the 5,454 yard green tees or challenge themselves even more with the 7,109 black ‘championship’ tees.

The full length course isn’t lined with tall trees like you might expect at a British Columbia golf course. However, it provides its own kind of beauty, which is perfectly summed up by the man who designed it, esteemed Canadian golf architect Graham Cooke. “The Harvest GC lands are truly awe inspiring. The panoramic vistas, flowering apple blossoms and great sweeping elevation changes made my first tours of the land a delight. Golf holes literally danced in front of my steps.”

Bronze: Gallagher’s Canyon Golf & Country Club

Gallagher’s Canyon Golf & Country Club is consistently rated as one of Canada’s top tracks and it’s no secret why. Like the Harvest, it’s located in East Kelowna on the edge of a picturesque canyon that you can look out onto from much of the course, that is if you’re not surrounded by beautiful ponderosa pine trees.

While it’s a beautiful course to look at, it can be a frustrating one to play as it provides quite the test for even the best golfers. The course plays between 6,084 and 6,802 yards, although it stretches even longer when the MacKenzie Tour pros come to play the annual GolfBC Championship in June. If you’re looking for a slightly easier course, Gallagher’s Canyon is also home to the nine-hole, mid-length Pinnacle Course.

Other nominees in this category:

Tower Ranch Golf & Country Club, Shannon Lake Golf Course, Okanagan Golf Club - Quail and Bear, Kelowna Golf & Country Club, Black Mountain Golf Club, Sunset Ranch Golf & Country Club, Michaelbrook Ranch Golf Club
