The three best ice cream spots, as voted by you

Ahh, ice cream, it's the sixth food group this time of year. Lucky for us we have some pretty amazing places in the valley to obtain some.

Whether you’re after rich, creamy goodness, some locally sourced vegan options or that wow factor, these three places are cool in more ways than one!

Here are the best ice cream joints in and around Kelowna, as voted by you.

Parlour

The new kid on the block, Parlour, has swept the Okanagan with their trendy boutique-like atmosphere, sophisticated flavours and dedication to supporting local farmers within the brief year they have been open.

Their modern, insta-worthy location on Water Street boasts flavours built around the freshest local ingredients like lavender, hazelnuts and fruit served in a cup or homemade waffle cone.

The best part? The flavours rotate with the season, meaning new and exciting things are always on the go. But don’t worry, the classics and crowd favourites tend to stick around.

Tickleberry’s

Though this seasonal ice cream shop may be a bit out of town, tucked away in Okanagan Falls, it is well worth the trip!

Having been around for the last three decades, it is safe to say these ice cream artisans know a thing or two. Serving comfort in a cone in over 70 flavours, this roadside malt shop is much more than it appears to be.

Summer is always an odd thing for locals and people who work in tourism industry 🌞 You survive the winter of closed businesses and lack of social functions. You enjoy spring with gardens and opening patios and then.. Summer. Our little valley starts bursting at the seams. Hour waits at restaurants and no parking at the beach. Everyone in a rush and too many things to do. We long for summer and some how wish it away just as fast. So today on this beautiful long weekend Stay in bed a little longer! Choose to enjoy the busy and be thankful for everyone that enjoys our valley and keeps our small towns alive 🌈 . . . . #smalltowm #icecream #explorebc #okanagan #slowdown #vacation #beach #sleepin #summer #tourist #laketown

A novelty of the Okanagan, you can check out the kitschy trinket shop before you tackle their towering seven scoop monster of a cone if you’re up for the challenge.

Moo-lix

In the heart of downtown Kelowna, Moo-lix has been Kelowna’s go-to ice cream spot since 1998. Regularly filling the streets with the sweet smell of waffle cones, and drawing a massive line any night of the week, it is really no surprise these guys made the cut.

With countless flavour choices and more than just the classic cone or cup options, you can indulge in everything from massive 10 scoop cones, to milkshakes and even sundaes.

Other nominees include: Dairy Queen - Glenmore, Cream N Bean Coffeehouse, Paynter's Fruit Market, Dairy Queen / Orange Julius - Gordon, Scooter's Ice Cream, QB Gelato.
