Kelowna-based virtual snowboarding start-up, Watch and Ride, recently launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign with the goal of raising funds to help people master the art of snowboarding.
Founder and CEO, Fraser Johnston, as well as the Watch and Ride trainers, are all originally from Scotland and England where the only season is rain. The lack of snow forced them to learn how to ride on dry ski slopes, which was less than inspiring. It was because of this challenge that they all relocated to British Columbia to become snowboarding instructors.
The Watch and Ride coaching system is presented by certified instructors dedicated to helping every ability of rider gain the skills to conquer any terrain on the mountain. Watch and Ride content is filmed with a 4K HD drone that produces unique footage and viewpoints, from both the air and the ground, providing the customer with a crystal clear picture coupled with a pinpoint explanation. All they will need to do is "watch and ride" on their mobile device!
The goal of the crowdfunding campaign is to help fund the costs of camera equipment, drones, videography and editing, and web development and design.
Backers can receive discounted year and lifetime memberships, video analysis sessions, as well as such Watch and Ride gear as T-shirts, hats, and hoodies. Watch and Ride is also raising money for BC Adaptive Snow Sports to help children and adults with physical or cognitive disabilities have access to the mountain and get joy out of snow sports.
