As voted by you, here are the best wineries in Kelowna of 2020, presented by Secure-Rite Mobile Storage.
The organic and biodynamic Summerhill Pyramid Winery has claimed bronze. The winery has practiced organic winemaking ever since the vineyard was bought in 1986 by the Cipes family. Their wines such as the Cipes Brut, Cipes Rosé, Cipes Gabriel and the Riesling Icewine have earned various national and international gold awards. Perhaps the most unique and well-known feature of the winery is the iconic pyramid. It’s second to the Great Pyramid of Egypt for alignment and precision. It’s a guiding principle for the owners as the Great Pyramid of Egypt represents so much symbolism which is translated into winemaking. Wine tasting is available every day from 11 am to 6 pm.
In silver is the popular local winery, the hatch. The winery provides guests with a very laid-back, outgoing and happy experience, not to mention great wine. Multiple wines have earned a number of awards such as the B. Yanco, Ross 3.0, Dynasty Red and much more. With several wine collections and separate wines, they can get you anything you want. Even an orange wine. They are currently open daily from 11 am to 6 pm to the public as long as the groups are 6 or less people.
The gold winner of 2020 is the esteemed Quails Gate Estate Winery. Family-farmed since 1956, Quails Gate is home to award-winning wines such as their various Dry Reisling’s, Chardonnay’s, Pinot Noirs and a long list more. The Stewart family is dedicated to winemaking excellence and are always looking to improve their wine’s character, quality and flavour. The established winery is open for tastings by appointment or walk-in 7 days a week from 11 am to 6 pm.
