Tara had been hit by a car in the streets of Tehran and suffered from a broken back. She had a litter of puppies to care for, but unfortunately, with her lack of being able to walk, she was unable to care for them and only one survived by the time she was rescued. Her rescuer took her to a vet to have her euthanized. She was so friendly to everyone, smiling her big happy smile and kissing and licking her puppy that no one had the heart to take her life away. Her rescuer wasn’t going to be able to care for her so she asked Loved at Last Dog Rescue to find her a wonderful home in Vancouver, and now here she is!
She is one of the kindest, gentlest, most full of life dogs you will ever meet. She adores people and is great with kids, cats, and other dogs. Her rescuer bought her a wheelchair and now she races around enjoying life to the fullest.
Tara has been such a pleasure to foster over this past month. She has such a happy, easy-going nature that draws everyone to her; we can't walk her without being stopped multiple times for people to ask about her and tell us how beautiful she is. She certainly brings out the best in people. We were so impressed with how easily she got along with our cats and the other dogs in the neighborhood. She wants to love and be loved by everyone.
Tara is incredibly bright and learned the routine of the house very quickly. When it is time for a walk or to be changed, she knows just what to do to make everything smooth and simple.
When she first arrived, she was a little weak and was not very interested in going on long walks. Now, the moment we get home she is up and ready to go on any adventure. We have taken her and her wheels on all sorts of terrain and there really isn't anywhere she can't go! She really loves the beach.
While we have so loved having her with us, Tara needs a home where she has her humans present most of the time and would be well suited to someone retired or who works from home. She is great with all kinds of pets; dogs, cats, ferrets, as well as children.
