What does commitment mean to you?

Is it carving out quality time with your friends and family or your work ethic at your job? Does your commitment come in the form of daily meditation or yoga practice, or is it dedicating yourself to the thing you've placed the most importance on? If commitment is eating well and being the best form of yourself, then what does that look like in your life?

Whatever your commitments are, they are all related. They are all closely intertwined through your mindset which is something you carry with you every day. When you wire your mind to commit to things in your life, that hold value to you, you will find that thread of commitment into other areas of your life. You start to plan around the commitment, you’ll give up other things to do the important thing instead. Admits the scheduling, planning and compromise, you will receive the value of the thing you committed to, as a by-product of what you set out to do.

However, there is another side to this. You have probably heard people in your life who proudly claim, "I'm a commitment-phobe." What does that mean to you? To me, it's a label to justify a lack of commitment. This is not where the juice of life happens. This is not where passion is bred and it is not where the good stuff is found. It's playing small and not rising up to the occasion. It's half in, half out, with the cup half empty. It's the sorta, kinda, maybe answer.

How about the digging in of the things that we really love and expanding them? How about committing one hundred percent to the things that make your heart pump and politely saying ‘no’ to the things that don't? This alone, takes a high level of commitment to yourself. You will get super clear on what your soul needs and craves rather than what your ego wants. Like most everything in life, it's simple if you let it be. These lessons are not easy, but are so worth it.

Let's all play big. Let's all rise up and take the high road. Let's go all in, with your cup full to the brim with no more ‘meh’s’ and to all of the ‘yes’.

Whether it's a triathlon, a marathon, a new business idea, a road trip or a trip across the world, a small conversation, a big wild-feeling conversation, commit to it. Simply commit. Both hands on deck, jump head first, sign up or check in. Sit in the driver seat, get on the roller coaster, be your own co-pilot and most importantly be your own number one.

The worst case? It may not pan out the way you thought, but you'll have learned and grown. The best case? You put your head on your pillow at night knowing you committed and gave it all you had.

With big Sunday love,

Roz
