Directions

Located 6km East of Bridesville, just outside of Osoyoos. From Hwy 3, turn left on Johnstone Creek Road W, following the signs for Conkle Lake Provincial Park. Stay along this dirt road for 23km. There is plenty of signage to reassure that you're on the right track.

There is a second route from Hwy 33 just north of Westbridge, although this route is not suited for cars and/or trailers.

Description

Conkle Lake Provincial Park is a neat little spot if you're ever in the area or need a good camping spot! This 587-hectare park offers a beautiful lake set in the mountains with fishing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, swimming, camping, hiking and even a waterfall!

The Falls trail starts between campsite 32 and 33 and is only 2km to the falls. This single track trail is easy with a moderate little climb, just enough to get your heart going. Walking through the dense, peaceful forest, I thoroughly enjoyed the new surroundings!

Not too far along we could hear the sounds of rushing water. As we got closer, the sounds quickly disappeared and we were back to the silence of the woods. Working our way along the trail, the sounds of the water grew louder once again. We soon reached a fork in the trail, right heading to the upper falls, and left towards the bigger, lower falls viewpoint.

Towering above the canyon, the lower falls view point was a magnificent vantage point, offering a beautiful view of the Falls! Please be careful and stay away from the cliff edges above the canyon!

After enjoying the falls along East Creek, we headed back along the trail to the campsites. This hidden gem is off the beaten path, but is well worth the travel! Conkle Lake itself is stunning. Secluded in the Okanagan Highlands, the cool, clear water has a beautiful sandy beach that is perfect for any hot day!
