2019-03-31 14:00:00 2019-03-31 16:00:00 America/Vancouver Atheist/Humanist Death Cafe Death Cafes have become popular recently and these discussion groups are often well attended. At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat, drink and discuss death. However, many secular humanists and atheist people shy away from these types of activities in fear of getting involved in circular discussions that are spiritual and religious in nature. The objective of Kelowna's Atheists, Skeptics and Humanists Association's death cafe is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives. Talking about the finality of death is a good thing: not only does coming to terms with your own mortality mean you're more likely to live life to the full, being open about it means we can support each other, our families and ourselves. No one gets out of death, so let's talk about it. Allison Moore will be our facilitator. If you are interested in attending an atheist/ humanist guided Death Cafe, please email us via our contact page. https://askuskelowna.ca/contact/ Meet us in Creekside Pub's Banquet & Meeting Room.
