2018-10-27 19:30:00 2018-10-27 00:00:00 America/Vancouver Winnipeg Social 5-TIME JUNO AWARD WINNER JULIE MASI PRESENTS THE 4TH ANNUAL WINNIPEG SOCIAL IN KELOWNA IN SUPPORT OF PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORTIVE PROGRAMMING IN KELOWNA. WHY PROSTRATE CANCER? In 2010 Julie's husband of 32 years Agostino Masi lost his life due to PROSTATE CANCER. Before he died she made him a promise that she would continue his legacy through sharing his story with other men and would raise funds for Prostate Cancer Supportive Programs here in Kelowna. SOCIALS - A WINNIPEG TRADITION In Julie's hometown when you want to raise awareness or money for a group that really needs it, you organize a Social! A Social is a long standing tradition in Manitoba where friends buy tickets to come together in a big hall, dance to live music, eat, drink and have a chance to win donated door prizes all in the name of raising money. This years Winnipeg Social is on Saturday October 27, 2018 doors open at 7:30 in the Kelowna Curling Club on 551 Recreation Avenue. Tickets are $35.00 each or $40.00 at the door. Cash bar. Steve Soucy, The Zamboni Brothers, John Delaney, Vicky Nash, Bob Silversides, Jimmy LeGuilloux and drummers Gord Osland and Harvey Kostenchuk will be joining Julie on stage for a night of great live music. Get your dancing shoes on, it will be rocking! Special thanks to media sponsor Okanagan Oldies 103.9 and to our gold wine sponsors Volcanic Hills Estate Winery, The View Winery & Vineyard and Indigenous World Winery along with House of Rose and Peller who have donated over 130 bottles of wine in a variety of price ranges. Each bottle will be on display on our Wine Wall. For $20.00 you pick a numbered cork, you get the matching numbered bottle. You could win a $60.00 bottle! Plus we are serving social food! A snack of Winnipeg Rye Bread baked fresh right here in Kelowna by Specialty Bakery & Bistro along with Barbs Perogies will be offered later in the evening with a selection of cold cuts and cheeses - all included in your ticket price.
