1969-12-31 08:00:00 1969-12-31 23:59:00 America/Vancouver Kelowna Women's Safety Initiative - Virtual Silent Auction More than 1 in 3 women report experiencing intimate partner violence. According to the World Health Organization, domestic violence has increased worldwide since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Women's shelters and anti-violence programs across BC are also seeing an increase in use of their services. This means that women are at increased risk of physical, mental, sexual, and reproductive health problems with less access to supports and medical attention. The Kelowna Women's Shelter has been providing essential services to survivors of domestic violence in our community for 40 years. The shelter is open and continues to assist women in need throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Your generous donation will ensure that survivors can continue to be helped during this time. For the month of June, bid in our Virtual Silent Auction on over $1800 of items and services donated by local businesses and artists. The highest bidder will win the item, and will be notified by email to complete payment once the auction closes on June 30th at 11:59pm. All proceeds will go to the Kelowna Women's Shelter. We would like to thank our donors for their generous support! If you have any questions, please contact us at: kelownawsi@gmail.com Kelowna Women's Safety Initiative events@kelownanow.com
