A host, 3 openers, and two headliners! that is six comedians on one show! When Kelly Kreye was going to junior high school in Stony Plain, AB, Canada he would go to Cam Wards house and watch Eddie Murphy & Andrew Dice Clay during the lunch hour, then they would go back to school and quote the specials verbatim often leading to huge laughs and longer detentions. Upon dropping out of high school to join the illustrious working class as an oil rigger in Northern Canada he quit after a year and a half to the next logical career choice as an international male model (insert Zoolander joke here). After 10 years of ‘grinding it out’ in the Big Apple he decided to buy a 1984 Volkswagon “Hippie Van”, hit the road and become a ‘road dog’ comic touring the U.S. and Canada performing everywhere he possibly could imagine. Amarillo, TX? Yup. Jackson, MS? Yup. Asheville, NC? Yup. Niagara Falls, ON? Yup. Salt Lake City? Yup. In the words of George Carlin, “If it’s got a zip code… I’ll fucking be there.” Kelly brings absurdity and creativity to true to life subjects where he enjoys satire and hyperbole to show the ridiculousness of the human condition. To prove he is actually talking into a microphone on a stage he can gratefully say he has performed in multiple comedy festivals both in Canada and the US, has shared the stage with Todd Barry, Jim Gaffigan, Dave Attell amongst many others and has a YouTube channel where he highlights comedy scenes in different cities called ‘Dave Made Me Do It’. She may be petite, but Velina’s comedic presence is larger than life. What does a globe trotting, Australian-Macedonian vet tech think of life in Canada? Her observations may not be what you expect, but they will be real and riotous. From dating to dead dogs, Velina’s stories run the gambit. Although relatively new to the scene, she is already commanding attention as a comedy powerhouse while regularly performing with Comedy on the Verge. Velina has performed both internationally and locally, and been seen at such events as Comedy Bloodsport, the Wine & Laughs Comedy Fest, Kamcomedy Fest, Calgary Funny Fest, Kelowna’s Fringe Festival, Okanagan Comedy Fest and most recently JFL NW 2019 The Outsiders winner.
