Joined by special guests, Peterborough's MAYHEMINGWAYS, the father & son duo will perform songs from their new record, Solidarity, as well as favourites from Joel's vast catalogue of music. JOEL PLASKETT is a JUNO-winning East Coast Rocker that has become a nationally adored icon. Comfortable playing an eclectic array of genres, from blues and folk to hard rock and country to pop, Plaskett rose to prominence as a member of Halifax alternative rock band Thrush Hermit. His musical mastery can be heard in such tracks as “Nowhere With You”, “Through & Through & Through”, “Jimmie's Still Jimmie”, “Transit Strike” and “You're Mine”. He has toured throughout North America and Europe with such performers as The Tragically Hip, Sloan and Kathleen Edwards. Along the way he also amassed a veritable mountain of awards and honours. Among these are the JUNO Award Nomination Adult Alternative Album of the Year – The Park Avenue Sobriety Test (2016), Juno Award Winner Adult Alternative Album of the Year – Three (2010), Juno Award Nomination Songwriter of the Year – “Through & Through & Through” (2010), Juno Award Nomination Songwriter of the Year – Ashtray Rock (2008), Juno Award Nomination Songwriter of the Year – La De Da (2006), Juno Award Nomination Best Alternative Album of the Year (2004) and Juno Award Nomination Best New Artist of the Year – Down at The Khyber (2002). Joel’s father BILL PLASKETT is also a musician and source of inspiration for his son. Dedicated to the music, Bill was a cofounder of the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, the reknowned musical event in this UNESCO World Heritage town. Something magical happens when father and son take the stage together. For more information about JOEL PLASKETT please visitwww.joelplaskett.com. MAYHEMINGWAYS are an eclectic, full-sounding duo straight outta the musical hotbed of Peterborough, Ontario. With music shifting seamlessly from folk-rock to traditional to country to something brand new, MAYHEMINGWAYS has been described as fuzz-folk with Cajun, Bluegrass, and Celtic influences. Check out “Jackson Creek/My Grandmother”, “Boone’s Tune” and “Hunter St. Blues” and you decide. Tom Wilson of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings and Junkhouse writes, “Mind-bending and original music with deep roots in the tradition of dark North American folk.” Their first full length album Hunter St Blues, released this Spring, was produced and engineered in Nanton, AB by Steve Loree (Ian Tyson, Corb Lund, Petunia). The band’s first EP (2013) was engineered by James McKenty (Blue Rodeo, Cuff the Duke, The Weber Brothers). Lead singer Benj Rowland deftly handles all the strings while Josh Fewings delivers the percussion and back-up vocals.  From their inception in 2013 MAYHEMINGWAYS have toured Canada relentlessly. Like bands of yesteryear, national tours have built and expanded an ever-increasing fan base from coast to coast. With just a song or two you will be one more building your playlist around MAYHEMINGWAYS . For more about MAYHEMINGWAYS please visitwww.mayhemingways.wordpress.com.
