2017-04-29 19:00:00 2017-04-29 23:00:00 America/Vancouver Kelowna Folk Club presents Carolyn Anele Carolyn Anele’s pure natural voice, innovative melodies and well-crafted lyrics weave a fusion of folk, country, bluegrass and Celtic roots music into uplifting stories of life, love, family, friendship and the simple journey of the human heart. With a voice compared to the likes of Mary Gauthier and Judy Collins and the humorous sensibilities of Connie Kaldor, Carolyn writes songs that can make you laugh and make you cry. Career highlights include opening for singer-songwriter, Eric Bogle, performing in singer-songwriter showcases with Bill Henderson and Roy Forbes and folk duo Lester Quitzau and Mae Moore, Fred Penner, Wendell Ferguson, Shane Chisholm, Andrea England and Duane Steele, 2013 Semi-Finalist in the International Songwriting Competition for the song, "Coal Dust Sandwiches"  (written by Carolyn Anele & Howard Brown) “Carolyn's wonderful songs kinda sneak up on you, quickly taking you to the heart of the matter. She's a fine songwriter.” - Roy Forbes, Canadian Singer Songwriter  The BC native currently resides in Vernon, B.C. with her husband, children, and the family pets.  It has too long since the Kelowna Folk Club has hosted her and we are correcting that right now. We are pleased to present Carolyn Anele in an intimate house concert setting at 2747 Riffington Place, West Kelowna on Saturday Apr. 29. $20.00 tickets are available online at www.kelownafolkclub.ca or at Havana Room at 102-1835 Dilworth Dr. Kelowna or the Mad Hatter Bookstore in West Kelowna starting on Apr 8, 2017. The entire ticket price goes to the artists to cover their expenses and compensate them for sharing their talents with us. Most of our artists are full time recording musicians and this how they earn a living. House Concert 2747 Riffington Pl. events@kelownanow.com
