2019-11-15 08:30:00 2019-11-15 17:00:00 America/Vancouver Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR Level B (Canadian Red Cross) This one-day course provides an overview of First Aid and CPR skills with a focus on childhood injuries and illnesses. The course is designed for individuals in the early childhood education industry as well as for parents and caregivers. Participants will learn: How to respond to child care emergency first aid situations and activate the EMS system Check, Call, Care—the 3 basic steps to follow in any emergency Airway, breathing and circulation emergencies First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest Wound care Head and spine injuries Bone, muscle and joint injuries Severe allergic reactions Sudden medical emergencies Environmental emergencies Poisons Keeping children safe Course includes the latest First Aid and CPR guidelines and exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training. Pre-requisite: None Course Length: 8 hours Certification: 3-year certification in Emergency Child Care First Aid, CPR Level B and AED Course Requirements: 100% attendance Skills demonstration 75% minimum passing grade on written exam Participants must be 16 years of age to be certified and be in good health and physical condition Participants must provide instructor with valid ID Participants must prepay to secure a seat in course Turner Group 101-266 Lawrence Ave events@kelownanow.com
