1969-12-31 19:30:00 1969-12-31 16:00:00 America/Vancouver Boundless Boundless is an exciting mixed repertory programme bursting with the themes of youth and love. Former National Ballet of Canada dancer and internationally renowned choreographer, Matjash Mrozewski, will partner with lauded Canadian composer Owen Belton to create a vital and potent new work that will tackle an issue relevant to today’s youth, igniting important dialogue. This piece is created in partnership with the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club and UBC Okanagan. Glas, by multiple award-winning choreographer Gabrielle Lamb, is an expertly crafted work inspired by the relentless river flow. This work showcases the fluidity and physical interplay of the dancers in an abundance of intricate combinations. In Studies of Cash, the company pays tribute to country legend Johnny Cash. Featuring a heartrending mix of Cash recordings, Orlando’s soulful, stylistic work explores the notion of confinement through a feast of styles: classical lyricism, folk-dance and rhythm n’ blues. Kelowna’s-own Joshua Beamish will transport audiences to Renaissance Verona with his fresh, classical interpretation of the breathtaking balcony pas-de-deux between Shakespeare’s two star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet.
