2019-09-23 17:00:00 2019-09-23 19:00:00 America/Vancouver Exploring Identity Through Story KCR Community Resources in partnership with Kelowna Museums will be releasing the short film Reclaiming Me; a group of Kelowna youth share stories on keeping their own (shifting) identities while exploring the complexities of living within a new country, new systems, and communities. Panel Discussion Film Participants, along with the project and film’s Facilitator & Director, will share how story and community-led to exploration, learnings, and dialogue throughout the project. Participants will discuss the importance of creating brave spaces and opportunity for such meaningful, multi-directional conversations to occur. Director, Reclaiming Me: Marcel Daly Marcel is a multi-faceted director, cinematographer, and writer who has been involved with the film, in some form, since his childhood. He has interned for acclaimed directors and shot music videos for multiple artists both nationally and internationally. He shot his first short film 19 Swartzstraat in Amsterdam and continues to write screenplays in his spare time.
