2020-05-18 08:30:00 2020-05-18 21:30:00 America/Vancouver Hatha/General Yoga By Nishimura (Sarah) Yoshimi Master a powerful tool for self-transformation now - HATHA YOGA WHAT IS HATHA YOGA? Hatha is also broken down as ‘ha’ meaning ‘sun’ and ‘tha’ meaning ‘moon’. This refers to the balance of the masculine – sun, hot, active – and the feminine – moon, cool, receptive – within all of us. Hatha yoga is a path toward creating balance and uniting opposites. In our physical bodies we develop a balance of strength and flexibility – something that is much needed with our current day lifestyles. We also learn to balance our effort and surrender in each pose. Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self-transformation. It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind, and be more present in the unfolding of each moment. ORIGIN OF HATHA The Sanskrit word "Hatha" literally means "Sun-Moon" ("Ha=Sun", "Tha-Moon") symbolizing balance and opposing parts of the physical body - ie. front, back, left, right, top, bottom. YOGA AND ITS BENEFITS: * increase your flexibility * increase muscle tone and strength * improve your circulatory and cardio health * helps you sleep better * increase your energy levels * improve athletic performance * reduce injuries * detoxify your organs * improve your posture * improves anxiety and depression * helps with chronic pain * release endorphins that improve your mood * and so much more... Instructor: Nishimura (Sarah) Yoshimi Sarah is a Certified Instructor of Semperviva Yoga Centres. She has been teaching Yoga since 2010 till present.
