Dr. Sears received a PhD in population biology at the University of California – Davis. She serves on the Board of Governors of the Real Estate Foundation of BC, and in 2015 was appointed by the International Joint Commission to the International Osoyoos Lake Board of Control. The award-winning documentary, "A River Film," was made through a partnership of the International Joint Commission, the Washington Department of Ecology, and the Okanagan Basin Water Board. It reveals the complexities and cooperation required to balance the competing needs for water in the valley, through the seasons and across an international boundary.
