Okanagan Master Gardeners Present : Seedy Sunday
Seedy Sunday is a part of hundreds of Seed Events across Canada in the late winter early spring, all set their tone and organizational ideas from Seeds of Diversity, who are dedicated to the preservation of endangered seeds and promotion of seed diversity.
The Okanagan Master Gardeners are a non-profit organization whose mandate is to support and help educate sustainable gardening practices throughout the Okanagan. Our annual Seedy Sunday event is the perfect way to begin our year.
Due to COVID 19 and British Columbia Provincial Health restrictions the Okanagan Master Gardeners have rethought Kelowna Seedy Sunday for 2021.
To work with all Provincial Requirements we have planned an outdoor Free Drive-Through Seed Swap. All protocols and social distancing will be in effect. Our members and supporters have spent the winter collecting, sorting, and sealing locally grown seed. Through Survey Monkey we will offer a huge variety of vegetables, annuals, perennials, herbs, specialty seeds and seeds for a Children’s project.
The Kelowna Seedy Sunday Survey Monkey inventory will be posted online: February 14 to March 7, 2021
-Order your seeds and register your time for pick up.
-Ordering online gives you first choice of available seeds… please note we may not be able to guarantee all your choices, but we will do our best to accommodate you.
-Pre-ordered Drive-through lineup will be posted and enable you to receive your seed order(s) without exiting your vehicle.
On Sunday March 14th 2021 we also hope to have Dave from The Blueberry Man selling his blueberry bushes outdoors. If we have any extra seeds they will available for drop ins.
Parking for drop-ins elsewhere in the Sports complex.
To celebrate Seedy events across the country we will run a Virtual Seedy Sunday on the Kelowna Seedy Sunday FaceBook page from March 1 st to 14 th, 2021. Each day we plan to highlight our regular Seedy Sunday vendors and share tips and seed related webinars from organizations such as Seeds of Diversity and FarmFolk CityFolk.
