7th Annual SMP Charity Golf Classic
We are excited to welcome you to the 7th Annual Southern Medical Program (SMP) Charity Golf Classic, an event aimed to fundraise for local initiatives. This year, we are proud to partner with Hope Air, an organization that works to provide free flights to people in rural and remote areas in financial need who would otherwise be unable to make it to medical appointments. In its first year, 1986, Hope Air organized 56 flights for patients. In 2017, they organized over 11,000 flights for patients all across the country. So far in 2018, Hope Air has arranged over 800 flights arriving to and departing from Kelowna. With the help of the SMP, the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine, and you, Hope Air will be able to transport even more patients to care next year!
Organized by medical students of the SMP, this event not only raises money for charity, but is a great opportunity to mingle with the community in the sunny Okanagan. The tournament is tailored to all skill levels, so it doesn't matter if you've never hit a ball in your life.
We invite you to spend a friendly afternoon on the course, followed by a delicious buffet dinner and silent auction hosted at the prestigious Harvest Golf Club.
