Tony Koenen is a well traveled performer, he will be joined by master guitarist Jim Rhindress for this special evening. Tony's songs are rife with his life experiences from deep down south in the Mississippi swamps to magical moments on Gabriola Island and the Canadian experience of growing up in the Alberta prairies with a musical family.
A common theme echoed by enthusiastic audiences is the diversity and originality of the songs he presents. From R & B to jazz influenced soulful ballads, blues and southern swamp he touches his audiences with his honesty and contagious energy. Tony moves with ease from piano, guitar, blues harp, slide guitar and even saxophone. He shares the stories of his songs with humor as he takes you to the Rock Bottom bar in “Alligator Town” or shows you the depths of the human soulful experience through haunting lyrics and the powerful rhythms of “The Hole”.
Jim Rhindress is a sought after musician having played from coast to coast. His professionalism and improvisation skills are a wonderful compliment to Tony's style.
