Anne Shirley comes to Avonlea, having already learned to live by imagination and fancy, full of romantic ideas, poetic notions, and equipped with a tongue "that must be hung in the middle, it flaps so." This superbly written piece of Canadiana, adapted for the musical theatre stage, is full of well-defined characters, lush beautiful music and glorious colourful dancing. The power of human emotion is delivered with perfection in this simple, touching tale.
