The Fighting Season – an original play by local actor and playwright Sean Harris Oliver- shortlisted for the Governor General's Award for English-language drama 2019.
Set in Afghanistan and Canada, this gritty, dark, and visceral drama is based in part on the writer’s father, an orthopedic surgeon who served as a medic during the War in Afghanistan. The story tracks a surgeon, a nurse and a civilian doctor, performed by Graham Daley, Chelsea Scholz & Andrew Gibbs, whose lives are bound together after a terrible incident involving an injured Afghan civilian and a bomb. DIRECTED BY STEPHEN JEFFERYS, STAGE MANAGER; DEB NICHOLSON, & PRODUCED BY RICHARD KNIGHT. Presented through Trident Players & Shakespeare Kelowna.
2015: Vancouver Fringe Festival,[3] the play had its commercial premiere in Vancouver in January
2017: Premiered in Vancouver
