More information has been released regarding the fate of Mount Baldy Ski Resort as the company appointed as marketing agent again looks for prospective buyers.
The beleaguered ski resort has been in jeopardy since it was placed for sale back in July 2014 as foreclosure action took place. The resort, located east of Oliver and Osoyoos was placed on the market after the mountain’s Idaho owners failed to raise cash to open. Marketing agent G-Force Real Estate Inc. was tasked with selling the property and promptly began considering offers.
After a few ups and downs it looked as though the ski resort would open in early January 2015 for a partial season, but the following season would be questionable.
The Baldy Capital Corporation bought the ski hill and was able to have it open in time for the 2014-15 season which ended on Sunday, March 22nd, 2015 with the annual Slush Cup. But since that occurred, the corporation and marketing agent have been unable to settle on an agreement.
In a statement to KelownaNow.com, G-Force Real Estate says it received an offer “which was not acceptable.” G-Force is now looking at all reasonable options to attract a buyer/operator to acquire the assets at Mount Baldy in time for the 2015/2016 season.
