In Focus | Brandon Wipp of Infuse360 Training and Yoga

In Focus is our gift to the community. A way for us to help show our recognition for the people, businesses and organizations that help make our city great. The team at KelownaNow.com is passionate about this community and the people that make it amazing. We want to show our friends, neighbours, family and colleagues that we notice them and the fabulous things that they do.

What is your name?
Brandon Wipp.

What do you always find yourself saying?
Telling my clients to breathe when exercising and tighten their core. These are fundamental practices to every physical activity, yet are so easily overlooked.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select and why?
Arnold Schwarzenegger because of what he has been able to accomplish professionally within his lifetime. I admire the fact that he came from absolutely nothing in Austria, yet through his unwavering determination was able to build an empire; it would be an honour to spend a day with him.

If you were to receive any existing public award, what award would you like to win?
To be perfectly honest, I have never thought about winning any kind of public award. Although I don’t know what I would hope to receive, I have a deep respect for the hard work and dedication that is required to be so highly regarded within one's field. I am proud of the enthusiasm and commitment with which I approach my work, but I believe I still have a long ways to go to even come close to some of my colleagues.

Who inspires you?
My mom and dad because they have always believed in me and have never doubted anything I have ever wanted to accomplish, no matter how crazy it was.

What are three things on your bucket list?
1. Scuba dive in the Galapagos Islands.
2. Cycle across Canada.
3. Motorcycle across the Americas, from Alaska to the southern tip of Chile.

If you had an enormous yacht, what would you name it?
“Wipp it Good”.

If you could foresee a single day of your future in its entirety, what date would you select?
I would not select any day in particular because I believe it is way more fun not knowing what each day holds.

What are you passionate about?
There are many things...I love running and anything to do with the water: surfing, sailing, swimming, water skiing, and anything where I get to be outside when the sun is shining.

What has been your favourite day of your life, up to this point?
There has been so many it truly is tough to choose one, but if I had to I would say going to see the Green Bay Packers for Monday Night Football in Seattle with my dad.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Finishing my Human Kinetics degree from UBCO.

Where is your favourite place to dine in Kelowna? What do you like about it?
Raudz, their food is all natural and locally grown and they make a mean cocktail.

What is your favourite activity or event in Kelowna? Why?
Boating with my family and friends, enjoying the sunshine, wake-surfing, and water-skiing.

What is the name of your business/organization?
The name of my company is Infuse360 Training and Yoga. I work primarily out of Mission Fitness located in the Capital News Center, as well as providing in-home training for a large majority of my clients.

What does your business/organization do?
I work with a wide variety of clientele including triathletes, hockey and football players, figure skaters, and people who are looking to get into shape and have fun doing it.

•Where can people find you or your business online?
www.infuse360.com

How do people connect with you on Linkedin?
Brandon Wipp

•What is your mission?
To help people achieve their goals and enjoy their lives pain free.

•If you could achieve one thing within your field, what would it be?
One day I would like to complete my masters with more research involving yoga and athletes with regards to injury prevention.

•Where do you want your business/organization to be in five years?
I would love to have two to three employees who share my passion for exercise and love what they do as much as I do.

•Who do you consider to be a forerunner within your field?
Jack Daniels (not the whiskey) is a phenomenal running coach and has changed the way we train for races and enjoyment. Named The World's Best Coach” by Runners World magazine and also a two time Olympic champion. I’ve been inspired by his training philosophies and research within the field of exercise physiology.

•What three qualities do you feel that your business/organization exemplifies?
1. I am able to go accommodate my clientele with their specific needs and goals.
2. I understand that working out and yoga are a means to be able to do everything else in life such as running, skiing, and be able to spend quality time with your family and not be injured.
3. My clients and I are always having fun.

•How does your business/organization impact the community?
I believe the greater overall impact on our community comes as a result of having more physically healthy and mentally stronger individuals thriving within their personal and professional lives. There is research to support the positive, pro-social impact associated with leading healthier, happier lives and I feel fortunate to be able to contribute to that within our wonderful community.

•If I could change one thing about Kelowna, it would be:
I try my best to remove the stigma that Kelowna is a difficult place to make new friends. As an extremely social individual, I always want to make other people feel both welcomed and appreciated, and in doing so I hope to be changing the way newcomers view Kelowna.

•What do you think makes Kelowna great?
I’m amazed at the young entrepreneurial spirit that is thriving in Kelowna. It’'s a constant conversation whether there are jobs and opportunities within our community or if people are forced to move elsewhere to earn a decent living. What I’ have been so inspired by are the amount of young individuals creating work for themselves and others pursuing not only what they want to be doing, but in the place they want to be doing it in.

•My choice for the Kelowna In Focus spotlight is:
My brother, Jeremy Wipp who owns and manages Valley Motor Sport. Being family, we value our work ethic and put the same amount of care and dedication into our businesses.

Also Selena Devries who is a dietitian in Kelowna who I work closely with because I do not know any other dietitian who knows so much about every disease or illness and can apply healthy safe food principles to it.
