Curtis Kieres

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
I am originally from Winnipeg, MB and moved to the Okanagan in 1995.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My fiancée Lisa. She knows how to make me smile.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Moab, Utah. It’s the adventure capital of the U.S. and a mecca for mountain biking and hiking.

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
I love Mountain Equipment Co-op. They have a great selection of outdoor gear.

What is your favourite activity?

I love playing musical instruments such as the sax and guitar.

If you had to choose: pizza, tacos, or burgers?
That’s a tough one... I’d say pizza but tacos come in a close second.

What is a hidden gem you enjoy in the Okanagan?
McDougal Rim trail in West Kelowna. There are spectacular views at the summit.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Sending a proposal to the wrong client early in my sales career.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Meeting Bruce Croxon from Dragon’s Den in person at a conference in Vegas in 2014. He is a truly inspiring entrepreneur. I was star struck.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
My birthday party at a wave pool with all my friends.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I have performed with a praise and worship team at a local church.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Everyone should have the basic necessities of living – food, shelter, etc.

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
I really enjoying getting outdoors and exploring the natural beauty right in our backyard!

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
The trails up in Crawford area.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
More affordable housing and lower cost of living.

I play the saxophone professionally.

We are a full-service solution provider of business management software and a Sage authorized partner.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I started with computers as a hobby in the 80’s. It’s been a keen interest of mine since childhood. Technology is always changing and it’s a continuous learning process.

What is the goal of your business?
To help our clients succeed in their plans, achieve their goals and realize their dreams.

What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
Having a good work/life balance.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I have no regrets in life and things happen for a reason. Life is a journey and that path we take is part of life – good or bad.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
To support the local economy in general (support local employment, create taxes, etc.).

Give someone that you think deserves it a shout out and explain why!
