Deanna Bell has lived in Kamloops for 18 years and owns a delicious food truck called Cookshack Cravings.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops?
Originally from Dawson creek, the Victoria and now here for 18 years.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
I love spending time with my kids. Jay 26 hannah 23, they both live away and have great careers so wenarw all very busy.
What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
I don’t get to shop for fun or for me very often. I scope for Cookshack all the time and then we sell sell.
Describe yourself in one word.
Artistic.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
I would love to go back to Paris, it just was a cool city. Valparaiso is pretty neat too.
What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
Hahah sitting at Mcrackens with my dog on the patio drinking a cold beer and eating salt and pepper wings.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Oh goodness, that’s not a good thing, not sure but I’m sure there is a few. Oh! Getting my Foodtruck stuck in a car wash!
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Oh my, watching my kids grow up and become great contributing members of society, starting businesses and getting great careers and becoming successful business people.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Going to 3 valley gap, the enchanted forest and visiting grandpa in Edmonton.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I do not have time to physically help so I try to help charity’s by giving gift certificates for cookshack. Contribute to gift baskets, give bottles away and donate a percent of our take to a local charity setbup by the event.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
The distruction of the cultures and counties and the war zones and the the sad affairs the people have to live in. Some never get back to their countries living forecerbin refugee camps. Now many countries don’t want any more refugees and immigrants.
Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
To any pub that has a sunny patio. A walk on the beach.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kamloops and why?
The homeless and drug problems. We have so much crime with guns now. I worry for kamloops.
What do you think makes Kamloops great?
That we are so central and you can spend time at the beaches or in the mountains and so many different sports and places to play in kamloops.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Visit Costa Rica.
Have a trip with my kids.
To find a nice retirement lifestyle that I can afford.
Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I actually am an introvert. I love spending time alone and could hide out for weeks and weeks me and my dog.
What is the name of your business/organization?
Cookshack Cravings
Why did you get into/start this business?
I like being self employed and I’m a foodie and really good cook. Everything that I serve has to have approval.
What is the goal of your business?
Feed as many people as many of my fantastic meals as possible. We lovento make events fantastic.
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Being an older female Foodtruck owner.
What do you always find yourself saying?
Enjoy your Food!!

Be honest ambitious and give yourself credit. Never give up and be fair.
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
My mom.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Sustainability of course and to support your community. It takes a village.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
my happy healthy successful kids.

Hardley Williams my friend and cook. Not many people could do what he does for me and we are always traveling and it’s always something. We push out so much food him and I we really have a rhythm.
