Meet Kevin! Kevin is originally from Lethbridge and has been living here in Penticton for eight years now. He enjoys golfing at the local courses, sneaking out to Naramata Falls for some alone time, and spending some quality time with his wife.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Penticton?
I am from Lethbridge, AB and have lived in Penticton for 8 years.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My favourite person is my wife. When we spend time together, she helps me clear my head and focus on what's important.
What is your favourite local store in Penticton and why?
Petrasek Artisan Bakery. Their food and coffee are amazing.

Golfing
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
I would rather not say.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
Giving back to the community of Penticton is one of the reasons I wanted to start my own business. To be able to support the causes and organizations that are important to me. We were able to make a large donation to Ride2Survive. We did this in memory of Bruce Schoenne, who was a pillar in the community of Penticton and a huge supporter of the Ride2Survive.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Drug abuse
Where would you sneak away to in Penticton to spend some time alone?
Naramata Falls
Where would you like to see positive change in Penticton and why?
I would like to see positive change regarding the homelessness here in Penticton and also the crime. Penticton is a beautiful place to live and visit, but crime is on the rise. Something needs to be done about it and soon. I would like to help out in any way I can, to see a change in these areas.
What do you think makes Penticton great?
Penticton is great because of the residents. Pentictonites are around their town and it shows. And also the fact that we got back Iron Man.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Sky diving
Swim with sharks (in a cage)

I almost went pro as a soccer player when I was 17.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Kettle Valley Memorial
Why did you get into/start this business?
I used to run a large funeral home here in Penticton. When it went corporate, my wife and I made the decision to start our own family-owned and operated funeral home. I have a passion for serving families in there time of need.
What is the goal of your business?
To serve and guide a bereaved family through the different options when it comes to the death of a loved one.
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
The biggest struggle was when deciding whether or not to start my own funeral home. I thought about it for years and finally made the decision last year.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I would do everything the exact same.
What do you always find yourself saying?
"In regards to..."
Tell us your best piece of life advice.
"You just decide what it's going to be, you just decide and from that point, the universe is going to get out of your way."
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Elon Musk. He thinks outside of the box and makes people change their minds.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Because when we shop locally we add stability to Penticton's economy and community.
