Meet Veronica! Veronica is originally from Edmonton but has been living here in the beautiful Okanagan for the majority of her life. She enjoys hiking and going on adventures with her pup, and spending some quality time with her two sons, Dexter & Micah.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
I am from Edmonton. I moved to Kelowna when I was 2 years-old, 38 years ago!
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My favorite person(s) to spend time with are my two sons! Dexter age 10 and Micah age 22! They are my world and spending quality time with them helps me stay balanced from work life!
What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
My favorite local store is Nature’s Fare Market! Love the staff and the fact that I can get healthy organic food to feed my family at my fingertips!

Determined
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
If I could go anywhere in the world right now I would go to Guangdong, China! My best friend and mentor lives their! We chat each day on "We Chat". She visits about once a year! I miss her and can’t wait to visit China!
What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
My favorite activity to do in Kelowna is going on outdoor adventures, hikes, dog beaches with my German Shepherd, Joy!
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
The most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me was I was in my chiropractors office and he did a huge adjustment on my back and out came a toot!
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
The most inspiring thing that has happened to me is the process of growing with my business. So many people think this was easy. I have had late nights, lack of sleep, failures, sacrifice, disappointments, frustrations, rejections, doubts, risks, early mornings, criticism and super hard work to get where I am! The inspiring thing though, is that through all of this persistence and with God’s grace I have overcome so many obstacles and I can truly say that I love my clients and this is my dream job!
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
My favorite childhood memory was faking being sick for school so I could go to my grandparents house for the day while my mom worked. I helped my grandpa skin rabbits and cut off chicken heads! My grandma taught me the piano and always made my favorite treats! Those were the best days! And yes, my grandma made chicken noodle soup and rabbit soup :)
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I always donate to the SPCA! I always help someone in need! I always help animals in need! I did my 1st Christmas hamper for a family last Christmas; we will do again for many years to come!
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Famine for children.
Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
I love slipping into nature off-trails with my German Shepherd, Joy! Best way to rebalance, ground myself and recharge!
Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
I would like to see proper help for people with addictions and homelessness in the community. I am not sure how this can get accomplished; but that would be great!
What do you think makes Kelowna great?
Our lakes and 4 beautiful seasons!
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Visit China
2. Retire living off grid
3. Have both my boys grow up to be healthy, happy and successful men!

I am legit obsessed with dogs!

People connect with me via mostly text message! However they do also email, DM me on Instagram or facebook. However mostly text me!

Why did you get into/start this business?
I’ve always loved everything to do with the beauty industry. As a child I would do my Barbies and Cabbage Patch dolls make-up, nails and play salon for hours on end! It only seemed natural to choose this as my career!
What is the goal of your business?
The goal of my business is to keep learning, evolving and take my business to the next level! I will be focusing more on education/mentoring for Estheticians!
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
My biggest struggle is balancing home life with work. ie: my boys, animals, household tasks and work.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I would have to say keep it the same. This has been an amazing journey!
What do you always find yourself saying?
'You know what I'm saying!' haha

"Work hard, stay humble!"
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Oprah! She has persisted through so much and look where she is!!! I love her books, her intelligence, her beliefs, and her story!
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
When you purchase at locally owned stores, more money is kept in the community because locally owned businesses often purchase from other local businesses, I know I do!!!
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
My persistence to get to where I am!
