If you've ever said to yourself, "I wish my parents had forced me to learn piano when I was young! Now it seems too late.", then today's In Focus is for you. Paulette Breault has found an answer to that question many find themselves asking. She has developed an easy way for people of all ages to learn how to play. Now Paulette has a business helping people fulfill the dreams that they had when they were younger - something definitely worth making In Focus.
What do you always find yourself saying?
If I had a nickel for every time some one said that ( I can always play better at home) I would be very well off!
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
David Foster. A great Canadian musican who has the "touch" to find talented people and help them succeed.
If you were to receive any existing public award, what award would you like to win?
A community award. Receiving this type of award would make people aware that no one is "too old" to learn anything they want to learn. In my case it is the piano. Teaching piano to adults and seniors enhances a person's physical and mental well being .
If you could spend a day with any historical figure, who would you choose?
Mother Theresa. The world is fraught with discord. The world needs more compassion and empathy towards each other.
Who inspires you?
I am inspired by anyone with a positive attitude and an open mind.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Learning to play the harp. It is such a tranquil sound.
Visiting Scotland and Japan. It would be a photographer's dream.
Playing golf on PGA courses that golf pros have played on.
If you had an enormous yacht, what would you name it?
Treble of The Sea
If you could foresee a single day of your future in its entirety, what date would you select?
I wouldn't. I prefer events to unfold as they are meant to be.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about anything I believe in that helps people. I love teaching and I find teaching is a "gift" and what better way then to share your knowledge with others.
What has been your favourite day of your life, up to this point?
The day I received a digital camera from my husband. As photography is an innate part of my life, my husband decided that because of the “amount" of pictures I was taking that digital was the way to go. His view was that it was saving him money as I processed so many rolls of film! Now I can "click" to my heart's content but am dismayed that I have worn out numerous cameras and lenses since!
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Raising two great children who view life with compassion and a desire to help others.
Where is your favourite place to dine in Kelowna?
Swiss Chalet because it is reasonable and is like having a home cooked meal. You are not hungry an hour later.
What is your favourite activity or event in Kelowna?
I actually have two. Going to the Kelowna Theatre when interesting artists perform and golfing at our many spectacular courses. I get to meet so many interesting people from all over the country.
What is the name of your business/organization?
EZee Piano Systems©
Where can people find you or your business online?
What does your business/organization do?
I designed this Beginner Piano program for Adults and Seniors. No one is ever too old to learn. Many people have always wanted to play but put their children first. Now they have a program that is tailored just for them.
What is your mission?
My mission is to reach as many people as I can. I want them to know there is a music program out there just for them. Besides gaining the satisfaction of playing a musical instrument, it also has great mental and physical health benefits.
If you could achieve one thing within your field, what would it be?
Licensing the program across Canada. The Okanagan valley has been the first order of business. Now I want to expand throughout BC and the rest of Canada
Where do you want your business/organization to be in 5 years?
To see accredited music teachers with the same passion I have for teaching, and getting the word out to all adults and seniors that have always wanted to play.
Who do you consider to be a forerunner within your field?
All teachers who have the ability to impart their musical knowledge to students of any age!
What 3 qualities do you feel that your business/organization exemplifies?
The love of learning through companionship and sharing is huge with this accelerated beginner piano program.
EPS brings a quality music program for ages 14 to 86.
Learning quickly but efficiently and seeing the students having fun while they learn is what EZee Piano Systems© is all about.
The mental and health benefits that playing the piano achieves. Many of the EPS students across the valley have reported less stress, help with their memories, and health benefits such as improved finger mobility for arthritis.
What would you like to say to your employees/volunteers?
A big thank-you and congratulations to all my licensees across the valley who saw the merits of taking on this program. You have shared with me your immense satisfaction with having achieved a positive and enjoyable learning experience with your students!
How does your business/organization impact the community?
EZee Piano Systems© provides a warm positive learning environment.
If I could change 1 thing about Kelowna, it would be:
To have warm weather all year long! On a serious note that everyone be provided a warm meal and a roof over their head.
What do you think makes Kelowna great?
The diversity of people who live here. Kelowna is a city of Entrepreneurs. There is so much talent here in a variety of fields.
Some general comments I would like to share are:
YES, you can learn to play the piano at ANY AGE. There is a free no obligation introductory lesson to see if this program is right for you. Lessons are done in Eight week sessions to accommodate an adult's busy lifestyle. People can accomplish in six months what takes about two and a half years traditionally. People play hands together from the first lesson, learn to play chords and learn how to improvise all in the first Eight Week Session. You can view our video profiles at www.EzeePianoSystems.com. All locations in Kelowna and West Kelowna as well as throughout the valley can also be found on our website.
In Focus is our gift to the community. A way for us to help show our recognition for the people, businesses and organizations that help make our city great. The team at WelcometoKelowna.com is passionate about this community and the people that make it amazing. We want to show our friends, neighbours, family and colleagues that we notice them and the fabulous things that they do.
