Five things you need to know
1. Study finds that pollution kills 9 million people each year
The Lancet Commission on pollution and health was released on Thursday and the results are incredibly scary. It found that pollution is the largest environmental cause of disease and death in the world today, responsible for an estimated nine million premature deaths per year. The leader in that regard is India, where around 2.5 million people die from the issue annually.

2. The Los Angeles Dodgers are off to the World Series
For the first time since 1988, the Los Angeles Dodgers will be representing the National League in the World Series. The Dodgers crushed the Chicago Cubs 11-1 on Thursday to book their ticket to the big dance. They’ll play the winner of the ALCS between the New York Yankees and Houston Astros. The Yankees currently have a 3-2 series lead and game six is tonight.

3. Driver in stolen truck leads the LAPD on an hour long chase
A man in Los Angeles was channeling his inner O.J. Simpson on Thursday as he led police officers on an hour long chase in a white truck. The chase was covered on local news outlets and, of course, featured on various Snapchats and Instagram posts. Eventually, the truck slowly comes to a halt, likely from a lack of gas, and the suspect is arrested by dozens of officers.

He may have failed his midterm, but he also went viral so it’s hard to complain. The tweet went viral and Jones eventually saw it, retweeting it with a priceless reaction of just three dots.
5. The Kelowna Rockets are in action at home the next two nights
