Why do you use Instagram?
I like to use Instagram as a platform to inspire others to live a healthy and happy lifestyle. It’s a place to promote awareness for things you’re passionate about! For me it is mental health and proper nutrition. Instagram is a visual portal of self-expression. It allows me to display the very things I love and value most. Since moving To Kelowna from Alberta, it allows my friends and family that I don’t get to see very often to stay connected. I also recently launched my own nutritional consulting business, The Holistic Blonde, and my Instagram account has been a great place to promote my website and blog!
What will people see on your feed?
There is definitely variety on my feed! You’ll find tons of food pictures, whether it’s my own creations or dishes from local restaurants. I absolutely love the food culture in Kelowna and like featuring local businesses. If I see a beautiful presentation, it is only natural that I take a photo!
I also enjoy taking photos of nature, and any opportunity I see a sunset I will snap a photo. You’ll also find more than enough pictures of Lake Okanagan from Knox Mountain. No matter how many times I hike that mountain I still have to take a picture at the top! Instagram is like a cyber photo album, so I always make sure to take photos of my friends and family and document our adventures.
Lastly, my handsome Siamese cat Marlow is my little sidekick and always makes an appearance!
What will people see on your feed?
Colorful & vibrant; I love capturing and enhancing the beautiful colors I come across. It makes the photograph come alive, and gives off positive energy.

Why do you follow KelownaNow?
KelownaNow is an excellent resource for current events happening in Kelowna, and I love how they always feature local businesses and individuals. In fact, they didn’t hesitate to repost my photo of Marlow when he went missing, which meant a lot to me!
KelownaNow is my go-to resource when seeking out new adventures in our city. They always have up-to date news and upcoming events going on in Kelowna, so it’s a great page to check-in with daily to see what’s happening.
How do you decide on your location for shoots?
You can take a walk anywhere along the boardwalk or lake and manage to get a beautiful photo. One of the reasons I love living here.
When it comes to food, I love natural light. I make sure I prepare my meals when the sunlight is in my favour! I try not to be that person (but I am) taking photos at the restaurant To me, food is art, so I will usually set up the table nicely (straight cutlery, coordinate the wine!) in preparation to get a quick shot before diving in to my meal.
Biggest Instagram moment?
Probably when local businesses feature my photos! Glow Juicery Kelowna is one of my favourite companies (with the most beautiful and delicious juices!) that always reposts my pictures. I am very grateful as it gives my feed and developing business more exposure.
