The world’s fastest log car is being auctioned off this week

If you're a fan of HGTV’S Timber Kings, you may recognize this creation as the fastest log car in the world.

The Pioneer Cedar Rocket is the brainchild of Bryan Reid Sr., the founder of Pioneer Log Homes of BC and star of Timber Kings.

With the help of a long time friends, Louis Horschel and Gerald Overton, the car was brought to life. It took them more than two years to create.

After appearing on Timber Kings and in multiple automotive events, including SEMA, E-Car Indy, and the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) trade show, it is now being auctioned off to benefit veterans charities at the 2018 Scottsdale, AZ Barrett-Jackson auction.

“All my life I have admired and appreciated courage, hard work, and sacrifice. In keeping with those values and staying true to my soul, I choose to assist our military in any way that I can. It's the least I can do. Who knows how the world would be without our selfless, brave heroes who sacrifice so much,” writes Reid.

The electrically powered vehicle is made entirely of renewable and recyclable materials. It also has a Guinness World Record to its name for being the fastest log car, clocking in at 74 kilometres per hour.

There to speak on behalf of the involved organizations will be the retired Maj.-Gen. Patrick Henry Brady, who served as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War.

He received a medal of honour, the nation’s highest military decoration for valour, for his service. He is the most decorated American combat soldier alive today.

The car will be sold at about 4:30 p.m. PST this Friday, and 100% of the proceeds of the sale will go towards the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation, the Our Nation’s Heroes Foundation, and The Royal Canadian Legion.

Reid says they are blessed to be able to help our veterans.

“Thanks we are blessed to live in the two greatest countries on earth and the car puts a smile on everyone’s face, from two years old to 90,” he said.
