Social Media Gurus Can Stay at a Posh Swedish Hotel for Free

If you have lots of friends on Facebook it can work in your favour if you are planning a trip to Stockholm anytime soon.

The Nordic Light Hotel is a four star luxury hotel in Sweden that is offering free rooms to those with a large social media following. The designer hotel is the first of its kind to accept social networks as payment. If you have 100,000 followers on Instagram, 2,000 friends or 100,000 fans on Facebook then you can stay for free at the hotel.

"It's time to start paying attention to the personal contact network and the time that people spend to create and maintain their networks. We do this by valuing the personal social network that money. Guest share posts during their stay which provides distribution and is branding, "said Marcus Majewski, CEO of Nordic Light Hotel.

Of course you’ll have to pay a price to stay for free at the hotel. Guests are required to share a post at the time of the booking, one once they have arrived and one more at check out. You can even stay at the hotel up to seven nights, completely free of charge.

"I am proud that we are the first hotel in the Nordic region to offer this currency," adds Majewski.

The hotel features 175 guest rooms and charges up to $350 per night for a trendy room. If you don’t have a big social media presence you can still get a discount at the hotel:

100,000 fans = 100 % off
2,000 private friends = 100 % off
1,500 private friends = 15 % off
1,000 private friends = 10 % off
500 private friends = 5 % off

100,000 followers = 100 % off
15,000 followers = 15 % off
10,000 followers = 10 % off
5,000 followers = 5 % off
