North Okanagan RCMP are looking to hand out tickets to kids in Armstrong this summer, but it’s a ticket they might want to strive for.
They have partnered with the local 7-Eleven to hand out positive ‘tickets’ for slurpees.
Officers will be watching for deserving young skateboarders and bikers who are riding safely and wearing their helmets.
The initiative was thought-up by Cst. Don Gunn, who said it’s a good chance for cops to talk to young people.
“We have a lot of kids doing really positive things, and we look forward to rewarding them for being good citizens of our community.”
The initiative will be rolling out soon, so if kids wear their helmets they might be in for a treat.
