1. Election results are final
The results of B.C.’s 2017 election are final and there’s no change from the initial results we saw on May 9th. Christy Clark and the Liberals lead the way with 43 seats, John Horgan and the NDP have 41 seats and Andrew Weaver and the Greens hold the balance of power with three seats.
2. Game seven between Ottawa and Pittsburgh goes tonight
In 24 hours there will be two teams left in the NHL playoffs and the Stanley Cup Finals matchup will be set. To decide the Eastern Conference representative, the Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins will face off in a winner takes all game seven tonight in Pittsburgh. The game starts at 5:00 p.m.

3. Joe Jonas and Alessia Cara will host the MMVAs
Joe Jonas and Brampton native Alessia Cara has been named hosts of the 2017 MMVAs in Toronto. The awards show will take place on June 18th and will feature performances from Niall Horan, Arkells and Post Malone, while Riverdale’s K.J. Apa (Archie) is one of the presenters.

4. Major landslide buries California’s famous oceanside highway
A major landslide from earlier this week has buried one of the most beautiful highway drives in North America. The famous stretch of road on California’s coast, which takes drivers for a beautiful drive through Big Sur. It’s now buried in rocks and rubble following on of the biggest landslides in state history.

5. Three teams remain at the Memorial Cup
Only three teams remain in the fight for CHL supremacy and none are from the WHL. The Seattle Thunderbirds went 0-3 at the tournament and didn’t make the elimination round. The Erie Otters and Saint John Sea Dogs will face off in the semi-finals on Friday night and the winner will take on the host Windsor Spitfires in the finals on Sunday.
