Whether you buy into it or not, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. A day to celebrate all things love-related, the tradition often brings forward mixed emotions.
If you’re hoping to skip out on the cliches this year, try something new or treat yourself to a night out — Kelowna has some unique ways to commemorate the day of love, so we have put together a quick list of things to do on and around Feb. 14!
What better way to spread the love than by supporting up and coming artists? On the eve of Valentine’s Day (Thursday, Feb. 13) the gallery is inviting one and all to dive deep into their new and exciting installations.
From photo and video to music and interactive activities the event is perfect to attend both solo or with your special someone. Bonus: There will also be sweet treats on hand!
The event runs from 6 pm until 9 pm and admission will be free.
Keep with the theme of artistry and beauty by snagging tickets to see Ballet Kelowna’s latest showcase, Twilight, hosted at the Kelowna Community Theatre.
The event will feature the work of two upcoming choreographers and will be a hybrid of classical and contemporary styles. There will be two performances, one on Valentine’s Day at 7:30 pm and another the following evening at the same time.

If Valentine’s Day is about anything else, it is about food!
Treat your significant other, friend or parent to a delicious evening of wine, live music and cheese or chocolate fondue at one of the city’s coziest wineries, The View!
There are reservations available at 5 pm, 6 pm, 7 pm the night of and tickets are only $18. Once you’ve eaten your weight in melted cheese and chocolate, pick up a bottle of wine for at home and take advantage of the 15% off promotion in the wine shop!
Spread the love to local artisans, crafters and farmers by finishing your V-Day weekend the East Kelowna Market on Sunday, Feb. 16!
The event will boast over 50 vendors, live music, crafting activities and the chance to take home some lovely prizes. Hosted at the East Kelowna Community Hall, the event will take place from 10 am until 2:30 pm.
