According to an in-depth price index survey recently published by Expatistan, the cost of living in Kelowna is really not too bad when compared to other major Canadian cities.
Kelowna ranks as the 14th most expensive city in Canada, with Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary taking the top three spots respectively.
Expatistan provides an in depth price comparison chart that paints an excellent picture of the cost of living in different Canadian cities.
For example, a standard dinner for two in a neighbourhood pub goes for $44 dollars on average in Kelowna. A standard men's haircut is $21 and a months rent in a 900 sq home in an expensive area is $1,636.
Comparatively, a standard dinner for two in a neighbourhood pub goes for $50 on average in Calgary. A standard men's haircut is $25 and a months rent for a 900 sq home in an expensive area is $1,927.
All three of these examples come in below the national average, which is largely influenced by the extremely high cost of living in Vancouver and Toronto.
