A man has been arrested after allegedly robbing a bank in Kelowna this morning.
The RCMP said they received a report of an armed robbery in progress at the TD Canada Trust on Harvey Avenue just after 8 a.m. on Saturday.
All available resources were rushed to the area immediately, police said, with a perimeter being established around the premises while a search was begun.
Police said they have learned that the suspect allegedly entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded money before leaving on foot with an unknown amount of cash.
"Our front line officers spotted the suspect in a vehicle in the area of Springfield Road and Hollywood Road South," RCMP Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey said.
"Those officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop with the black Dodge Neon and managed to take that suspect into police custody without incident."
The 58-year-old man remains in custody.
