Why Tofino should be on your list of places to go

Tofino is Canada’s year-round surf town on Vancouver Island, and one of the top spots to visit in Canada.

Surfing

There is surfing for all levels in Tofino.

Whether you are a beginner or an avid surfer, this is the place to be for Canadian surfing. Go rent some gear at Pacific Surf Co , or want to learn the basics when it comes to surfing? Take a lesson!

Whale Watching

The whale watching season begins in March through to October, and with no shortage of whale tours in Tofino, this should be at the top of your list.

So, grab your life jacket, hop on the Zodiac and get ready to spot some of the largest mammals at sea.

Hiking Trails

Tofino has its fair share of walking trails.

Walk the boardwalks of the Rainforest trail, or head up to the Cox Bay Beach lookout.

There is a trail for everyone in Tofino.

Restaurants

We could make a post just on places to eat in Tofino because there are so many delicious restaurants and food trucks.

A must would be the world famous Tacofino truck, but get ready for long lines because this baby is popular!

Dine at one of Canada’s top 100 restaurants: Wolf in the Fog, or simply enjoy a patio beer while overlooking the ocean at The Hatch.

Trust us, you will never go hungry here!

Sunsets

Tofino is known for its fiery sky sunsets, so grab a blanket and a beverage and make an afternoon of it!

Have a fire at Mackenzie Beach and take in the colour of the sky.

Or head on down to Cox beach, where fires are not permitted, but you won’t mind, as this place provides the best sunsets in all of Tofino.

Hot Springs

An hour and a half boat ride or a 20-minute seaplane from Tofino lies Hot Springs Cove, the only hot springs near Vancouver Island.

Once there, it is a 1.5 km paves boardwalk trail through the forest to the destination.

Companies such as Ocean Outfitters Tofino mix in Whale watching, bear watching and the Hot Springs into our big adventure day!
