A Calgary based tour company has launched a creative and unique way for Canadians to travel in the western part of the country.
Jump On Flyaways is dubbed as a way to “enjoy weekend getaways without the hassle of high airfares, inconvenient departure times and time consuming indirect flights.”
“Canadians are tired of paying high airfares, taking indirect flights or flying at inconvenient times to get a better price,” says Roger Jewett, CEO of Jump On Flyaways. “Jump On has created an exciting, low cost and easy travel option that solves these problems.”
The company offers those weekend travellers the opportunity to take a direct flight at a peak time for a low cost. The airline provides transportation from airlines that fly primarily from Monday to Thursday and uses those charter airline’s aircrafts, which often sit idle on weekends.
“Jump On offers only direct flights, the best departure times and easy to understand low airfares. The Jump On business model is unique as fights only depart if the Jumping Point is reached (or approximately 80 per cent of the seats are sold). This allows Jump On to ensure the lowest possible fares for our customers,” adds Jewett.
So far the company has flights departing from Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver and destinations include Penticton, Kelowna, Victoria, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, San Francisco, New Orleans and Phoenix. The last minute deals are far lower than competitors such as Wesjet and Air Canada, but only a limited number of seats are available.

Still in its infancy the company is looking to launch even more departure locations, hotel deals and tour deals as well. The planes are chartered through North Cariboo Air, Enerjet and Flair Air and include the use of the Bombardier CL 601 Challenger model, a swanky charter jet.
Carry-on bags such as a purse, briefcase or laptop are free but there is a charge for carry-on baggage and checked items. Carry-on bags are an additional $10.50 each way and first and second checked luggage is also $10.50 each.
Jump On Flyaways launched in Spring of 2013 and since has seen tremendous growth with the addition of available destinations, including Kelowna which was added in May, 2013.
