The council electoral race was a different story, though. With 11 council candidates running in the 2014 civic election, it was a competitive race right to the end of the Saturday night polling results.
Shirley Fowler garnered 713 votes and Paul Britton followed closely behind with 679 votes. Also elected to council was Steven Drapala with 591, Ron O'Sullivan with 541, Linda Werner with 450, and Helen Jackson with 425.
Approximately 3,477 Armstrong citizens were eligible to vote however, only 1,041 made it to the polls.
All numbers are preliminary until made official by Chief Election Officers.
