It was a memorable home opener for the B.C. Lions over the weekend.
Not only did the team secure their first win of the season, a 22-10 over the Montreal Alouettes, but defensive back Marcell Young also delivered an early candidate for hit of the year.
The hit wasn’t on a Montreal player though, but rather an unruly Lions fan that had made his way onto the field.
"My whole time up here I have just been craving one.”

The fan, wearing a Jonathon Jennings Lions’ jersey, looked to be having a blast running around the field, but his fun quickly ended when he let his guard down.
While running towards midfield, where Young was standing, the fan took a look over his shoulder to see if security was on his tail.
When he did that, Young took his chance to deliver a bone rattling shoulder to shoulder hit on the trespasser.
Hit of the night and reason not to streak or possibly drink at a BC Lions game! pic.twitter.com/vtnNx8sGWm

This why you don’t run on the field. #ProsVsJoes @CFL @CFLonTSN @tsn @dutchysc @JayOnrait pic.twitter.com/y69Q3GN6XF

The man was sent flying and was quickly detained by security, while Young was congratulated by his teammates for the impressive hit.
Although the hilarious moment wasn’t shown on the TSN broadcast, it’s quickly gone viral thanks to a few different fan videos that have been uploaded online.
Hopefully this serves as a lesson to anyone who thinks the immature act of running onto a sports field during a professional game is funny!
