Kelowna’s celebrity designer and former Bachelorette Jillian Harris took to social media on Wednesday to address a topic many British Columbians know well - a terrible taxi experience.
The popular TV Host of Love it or List it used Instagram stories to recount her recent experience of being kicked out of a cab.
“I can’t believe the amount of stories that I’m getting about cabs refusing people, cabs making people walk, cab drivers falling asleep,” she says in the video. “People saying cabs refuse people all the time so I know this has been going on for a long time.”

Harris finished her hot take by saying that if the BC government won’t allow Uber into the province, they better do something to improve the standards of taxi services.
She certainly has a point.
B.C. is the only province in Canada without Uber and Vancouver is the largest city in North America without the ridesharing service.
Many users claim Uber provides a more convenient door-to-door service than public transit, is faster and more efficient than taxi service as well as been proven to decrease impaired driving in cities.
having used Uber and taxis in Ottawa, Toronto, Portland, Seattle - I've found Uber way more convenient each time. 1/2

During the 2017 provincial election, John Horgan promised ride sharing would be allowed in B.C. by the end of 2017.
Over a year later, there’s still no guarantee ride sharing services like Uber and Lyft will be available in B.C. by the end of this year.
