The Vinyl Café Christmas tour has been cancelled because Stuart Mclean has cancer.
The author posted a note on the Vinyl Café website about being diagnosed with Melanoma.
“Melanoma, which was once a deadly diagnosis, has, over the last couple of years, become eminently treatable. The treatment is, as my wonderful doctor describes it, the poster child of cancer therapy. He tells me a positive outcome for the immunotherapy I will be recieiving should be in the neighbourhood of 85 per cent.”
McLean had three shows in British Columbia, which now have been cancelled. The shows were in Duncan, Victoria and Vancouver.
Therapy will start next week for McLean, who said it was hard for him to cancel the tour. Doing the tour while going to therapy was discussed but McLean didn’t want to do the tour if he couldn’t be his best self.
“I know this is a disappointment to those of you who are looking forward to the show. It is a disappointment to me too. It feels like I invited everyone to dinner and am calling to say the party’s off. I don’t know what to say except, I am sorry.”
Ticket holders can return tickets to where they were purchased for their money back.
McLean said they will announce next year’s concerts in the usual way in the New Year.
