Thousands of strollers recalled in Canada

Popular strollers and car seats are being recalled in the country because of a risk of children falling out of the seat.

The Stafety1st Step n Go Travel System has a step-to-open design that opens by stepping on the pedal. The recall has been put into place because of stroller tray folding mechanism can partially disengage on one side, which could cause a falling hazard. The front stroller tray supports the car seat and when it’s disengaged the seat can fall.

There have been 5,787 units of the recalled stroller sold in Canada and approximately 20,000 sold in the United States.

In Canada, the distributor Dorel Juvenile Canada has received eight consumer reports of the disengaging happening. In the Unites States, there have been 30 reports.

People are being asked to stop using the stroller and car seat and contact Dorel Juvenile Canada for a free repair kit.
